mindful mondays:
Start your week out right, like we used to at Cousino High School, get your mindfulness on! No yoga mat? NO PROBLEM! Use a towel or carpet. Like I tell my students during our yoga sessions-it's all about the breathing! Close your eyes, feel the breath enter your mouth and fill your belly. If you're breathing, you're doing it right! Try to think of nothing else but the sound of your own breathing. And as always: the light in me honors and respects the light inside each and every one of you! Namaste!

family fitness challenge:
Choose a simple exercise that everyone in your family can perform: jumping jacks, toe touches, arm circles-are just a few ideas. Choose a low number as a family (1-5). Have everyone in the family perform your decided upon exercise together and hit that number! Way to go!
The next day, repeat but see if you can add 1-for example if you choose the number 3 on day 1, then on day 2 you will do 4, day 3 you will do 5 and so on. Continue to do this and keep track of how many days, how many repetitions you can get up to! It's fun to work together as a family to accomplish a goal!

Fill It In Fitness:
Use the fitness cards to help you exercise AND work on counting! Print, cut out, and shuffle the cards. Take turns pulling a card. Do the exercise on the card-visuals on each help show you what to do! Count along using the numbers listed and have your child help fill in the missing number! *Make modifications for child's individual developmental needs when necessary.
